Ana H. Marty


Dr. Marty is a first year Post-doctoral fellow working under the supervision of Dr. Chris J. Lonigan. Her areas of research are those related with the effect of contextual factors on the socio-emotional and language development of ethnically diverse children, particularly Latino children. It is of her particular interest to examine the concurrent and longitudinal effects that direct and indirect vocabulary instruction has on the literacy skills of Spanish speaking preschoolers.

Silvia Palenzuela


Dr. Palenzuela is currently working on a new assessment instrument for Hispanic children in phonological awareness and teacher attitudes towards bilingualism and Hispanic children, as well as teacher efficacy in program implementation.
