Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships in Education Science
at the Florida Center for Reading Research,
Florida State University

The Florida Center for Reading Research announces the availability of postdoctoral research fellowship positions available for qualified individuals with a Ph.D. in psychology, education, special education, communication disorders, or related fields. The positions are supported by a Postdoctoral Interdisciplinary Research Training grant from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) awarded to Florida State University. Ongoing research at FCRR includes a focus on the measurement and development of early literacy skills, early intervention for the prevention or remediation of reading disabilities in preschool children, assessment and intervention with school-age children, application of advanced statistical techniques to existing early literacy databases, and development of strategies to advance the State of Florida’s mission of improving reading instruction for all children. FCRR PIRT postdoctoral fellows will work primarily with either Dr. Christopher Lonigan or Dr. Christopher Schatschneider but also will work with other members of FCRR faculty, which include clinical, cognitive, developmental, and school psychologists, as well as faculty in education and special education. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the research, supervise undergraduate- and doctoral-level research assistants, and participate in all training opportunities that are a part of FCRR’s Predoctoral Interdisciplinary Training Program. Fellows will acquire knowledge in conducting large-scale studies of literacy development, reading disabilities, and advanced measurement and statistical techniques. An annual stipend of $50,000 plus benefits is provided. A strong research background, previous experience working with child populations, and strong English language skills are required. IES postdoctoral fellowships are restricted to Citizens of the United States (or permanent residents).

Applicants should send a statement of interest, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation to:
